Soft signs of Summer
Sunlight, linen, and other gentle shifts
The clocks moved forward last weekend, and somehow, so did I. Not in a pathetic “new-season-new-me” kinda way, but more in the way light moves across a room when no one’s looking. Soft. Subtle… Personally, this shift into summer always feels less like a beginning, more like a slow return. To linen. To light. To rituals. To things I didn’t know I’d missed (hello, ankles). I been reaching for softer textures again —natural fibres, washed tones, shapes that move with me..
When I wake up, my mornings usually begin — no matter the season — with legs up the wall to get the circulation flowing (and yes, it looks as dramatic as it sounds), followed by a 10min guided meditation. (For my German readers: highly recommend the YouTube channel Inner Garden — her voice is angel-like, so, so soothing.) After that, it’s either a coffee or a matcha, depending on whether my nervous system is feeling cooperative that day, and I let the sun hit my journal before it hits my face. My Marshall plays sth softer in the background. The scent I wear changes, too. Everything just gets a lil airier — including me.
So when it comes to dressing for summer season, I not gonna follow any rules. Except for maybe this one: I want it to feel light! Been pulling out a few pieces I haven’t worn in — what, forever? And somehow they feel new again! But obv, also had my eye on a few soft-season faves too — garms, interiors, you know the vibe..
